A sub-standard website and no social media presence risked making a 80-something year old Congressman look... even older. It was critical that Mr. Dingell have an innovative website with maps highlight district sites, extensive slide shows of his historical career, and as much information on his voting recording as we could find. We even build a timeline demonstrating his incredible milestones (but don't go looking for it... a porn site bought and you don't want to see what's there now).

The changes led to two Gold Mouse Awards, the highest honor for a Congressional website.

We also used a podcast (owned media) to get him on the record about issues that people didn't associate him with. We used social media to demonstrate his personality and humor. Additionally, we used both the site and social platforms to highlight Mr. Dingell's earned media opportunities.

DISCLOSURE: It will probably be in my obituary that I started John Dingell's twitter account. While I am proud of the work we did, it was one of my successors and Mr. Dingell himself who took the account to another level and made him a "twitter rock star."
